Why alignment matters

Mismatches between people and their work often arise not only from missing skills but from a deeper misalignment of values. Most competencies are rooted in a specific value system, and if a person has not developed that system, the related competencies cannot fully grow. By working with the Values-Based Job Profile, you ensure that people have both the motivation and the capacity to develop the competencies their role requires.

Application

Working with the Track Model

The ValueMatch Track Model connects the purpose of an organization with its structure, culture, and people. It identifies six work tracks — cohesion, intervention, task execution, innovation, participation, and integration — each representing a distinct combination of external approach and internal principles. Understanding these tracks allows you to translate tasks and responsibilities into value systems.

Creating the
Values-Based Job Profile

You’ll learn to build a complete job profile based on value systems and required competencies. Using the Track Model and ValueMatch templates, you’ll map responsibilities across the Spiral Dynamics colors and visualize how much each system contributes to the job. The result is a clear picture of what truly drives performance and job satisfaction in that role.

From job profile to people matching

By comparing the Values-Based Job Profile with a person’s Values Assessment, you’ll see how well their motivations fit the job and culture. This method supports recruitment, coaching, and HR development, helping you identify where alignment is strong and where tension may arise. It provides a shared language for people, leaders, and organizations.
